About Us

The Plastic Products Commission is made up of more than 60 manufacturing and exporting companies of plastic articles. It is one of the most important industries in the country that supplies containers and packaging to agricultural, construction, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and aquaculture industries, among others. Major export destinations for these products are Central America, the United States, Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, China and Taiwan.

 

The work of the Commission focuses on building plastic product processing and exporting through services that increase competitiveness, facilitate sustainability and generate export business. It promotes the production of plastic items for local and international trade. Entrepreneurs receive assistance to improve their technical, administrative, financial capabilities and receive support in representation and communication, innovation and adaptation to trends. The main pillars of the Commission's work are innovation, business facilitation and development, effective communications, strategic partnerships, sustainability and environmental management.

 

The commission places special emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility activities. It organizing events to guide citizens on the most innovative initiatives on environmental trends, identify actions in favor of the ecology, generate awareness and environmental responsibility, encourage the development of entrepreneurial ideas and promote green entrepreneurship. In addition, the Sector leads the environmental campaign called Do your part! which consists of projects organized in conjunction by agencies and companies to promote environmental social responsibility.
