The Berries Subsector is formed by berries exporters. The 99% of the exported are blackberries. Other berries available are blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. The aim is to produce and export the safest and finest quality berries providing opportunities for development and growth for families and communites from rural areas. The Berries Subsector is engaged with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental protection.
Another objective is to continue developing the Guatemalan production of export-quality berries and provide support to berries producers in crop management and compliance with Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement), as required by destination markets. Berries production is located in Chimaltenango, Sacatepéquez and Guatemala.
